The back surgery that has taken back-to-back weeks is getting closer and closer to completion.
That surgery was performed on Weeknd by Dr. David Perdue on Tuesday at The New York-Presbyterian Hospital and New York Medical Center, according to the surgeon, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the ongoing complications.
He also confirmed that the surgery was the first in his career.
The surgery was successful, and the New York Jets tight end suffered a torn rotator cuff and a torn bicep, Perdue said.
The team did not announce the injury.
Perdue, who is in his sixth season as a surgeon, said it was a pretty simple operation.
The New York Times first reported the news of the surgery.
